How To Tell If You Are A Dog Dad

Starting with number one, you treat your canine companion as if it were a child. Look, many people may have a pet, but there is a special breed…no pun intended…of pet owners who look at their doggos as a part of the family, as their fur babies.

You nurture your fur baby, you spoil them, you buy everything they could ever want and need, you have your parents call them grandkids…and like any good parent, you brag shamelessly about them. Except it’s not really bragging, you’re just letting the world know that your dog is the best. That’s just a fact.

Number two, your dog owns at least 4 dog beds…but of course just sleeps in yours. You may be a big guy, but your dog, no matter how small…takes up all of the space. And guess what? You’re ok with that…because you’re a dog dad!

Number three, you are known to tell a bad dog dad joke here and there…or rather, all the time. Look, if dads to humans can tell dad jokes…why can’t you?? You just like big mutts and you cannot lie… Maybe dog mamas can do it to…

Number four, you love dressing your dog up for special occasions! Ok. By now you’ve probably seen our videos about the best dog Halloween costumes, holiday costumes, etcetera, which we all love, but this can also include just getting your dog dressed up in his favorite bowtie or her favorite bows. There doesn’t need to be a reason to dress your dog up, you just know the benefits of helping them put their best paw forward.

Number five, while you prefer to be next to your pupper at all times, side-by-side, attached at the hip, we all know that this isn’t always possible. So when you’re out of town or away from home, you’ve been known to facetime your dog. There’s nothing that screams dog dad more, than someone yelling “what a good boy” into their phone.

Number six, you are constantly and consistently COVERED in dog hair and guess what…you don’t care. Lint brush, who? You wear your dog’s hair loud and proud.
