Meet Ginger

Ginger is a very affectionate senior kitty looking for a home she can relax in. Ginger was an owner surrender along with another cat (he has been adopted) after her home introduced a dog and both of the cats started having accidents outside of their litter box. We were able to rule out medical concerns on why this happened; they always used their litter box while in the shelter. We were able to find a foster home for her and she is still accident free - this makes us believe that she was stressed out due to the dog. She is fostered with dogs in the house; however, she is always kept separate from them. She does appear to stress out when she can see them and would like do best in a doggie-free home. In her foster home, she likes attention and is also pretty self-sufficient when it comes to entertaining herself. She loves to play with a catnip mouse toy and likes to chase after toys on string. She is currently sharing a room with a 8yo boy and she will lay on his bed with him content as can be. She doesn't mind being held and likes to have a soft bristle brushing once she is comfortable with you. She would do best in a calmer home; where she can sit with you while you relax.
