Animal Rescue of the Rockies

ARR was formed in 2003 to provide an alternative to shelter environments for homeless dogs and cats. By providing foster homes as a temporary measure until forever homes can be found, our pets are socialized and cared for individually.

Meet Onion

Meet Onion – A Layered Little Mystery Onion is a soft, white-and-gray tabby with a heart as tender as his fur—if you’re patient enough to peel back the layers. This shy boy is still learning the art of trusting humans, but with gentle pets and the promise of a churru treat, he just might let you into his secret world.During the day, you’ll likely find Onion in his favorite hideout—a cozy, dark spot like the bottom of an armoire or tucked beneath the couch, where he can nap undisturbed in his little fortress of solitude. But when the sun sets, Onion emerges from the shadows, ready to explore every inch of his domain. Whether it’s quietly batting around a toy, sneakily rearranging household objects, or plotting mild mischief, this nighttime adventurer loves a little gentle chaos.Onion enjoys both dry and wet food (because variety is the spice of life!), and while he’s still figuring out this whole “cuddling” thing, he’s making slow progress. He accepts soft pets and will tolerate being held (begrudgingly), but he’s more of a “love on his own terms” kind of guy. With time, patience, and an endless supply of churru treats, Onion might just decide that humans aren’t so bad after all. If you’re looking for a quiet, quirky companion who keeps things interesting after dark, this mysterious little night owl might be the perfect addition to your home.  ️ Born October 2024. foster: EC   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives! $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These "guardian kittens" help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These "guardian cats" help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $200 for kittens (6 months & under)    $125 for cats (older than 6 months)    $75 for senior cats (8 years or older) If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
