Science Kittens

Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition, Inc.

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home. For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals. Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.

Meet Science Kittens

Meet our resident scientists! These kittens were found as orphans outside, and they are ready to bring joy and love to your home. They can be a bit shy at first, but give them a few minutes of love and they'll be your best friend! Test Tube (M, orange and white) is a true snugglebug, and he loves to be held like a baby or held tightly to your chest. Petri Dish (F, torbie) is a brave and sweet girl who is the most rambunctious of her siblings, and the bravest. The others take their cues from this natural leader. Microscope (F, brown tabby with white) is the shyest of the bunch but get her in your lap for some pets and she melts into you. Bunsen Burner (F, brown tabby with white) is a sassy little girl who loves to play and explore. Beaker (M, gray tabby) is a gentle boy who comes out of his shell with pets and churu.  These kittens are mix and match, meaning they need to be adopted in pairs!  Beaker has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and would benefit from an echocardiogram -- we would appreciate it if their potential adopter could help us cover this cost in lieu of an adoption donation.
