Meet Leonardo (Leo)
About 6 months old now, as a tiny kitten Leo had a scary adventure where he was stuck in a storm drain at a very busy intersection as cars were speeding by. Now that he is safe, he purrs as soon as you get your hands on him, but is still *very* shy around new people. He will make a wonderful companion for another kitten or cat. Leo is also very treat motivated - you can get him to do anything for a crunchy treat! He will not be a good choice for families with energetic young kids - he's happy to be out and about and play and climb into laps when things are calm, but hides from kids, and he will take a while to learn to trust new people. He is currently being fostered with four unrelated kittens who have become friends in case you are looking for more than one kitten! He is neutered, had three FVRCP vaccines, has had his rabies vaccine, a negative combo test, is microchipped, and is current on flea & worm prevention. Campus Cats adopts to indoor-only homes and requires an adopter have a cat carrier for safe transport. We do not have a set adoption fee and instead ask for an adoption fee of your choice. We are located in Athens, GA
Adoption Process
We ask that potential adopters fill out a questionnaire asking about their situation, what they are looking for in a cat, existing pets, former pets etc. If they sound like a good match then we arrange a meeting at the foster home. We require adopters to bring a cat carrier in case they decide to take the cat/kitten that day. In GA we can do a foster to adopt agreement for kittens not yet spayed so they sign that agreement and we continue to pay for the kitten's vet care up through the spay/neuter at one of our vets, but if the cat/kitten is already fixed they sign a regular adoption agreement. We do not have a set adoption fee and ask for a donation of the adopter's choice. We start kitten vaccines at 6 weeks, and repeat at 9 weeks, then rabies/neuter/final FVRCP/microchip at 12 weeks, but adopters can adopt at 8 weeks.
