Pippi's Place Pet Rescue

Pippi’s Place Pet Rescue is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to reducing the number of unwanted cats and kittens through the support of local Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs as well as placement of available felines in permanent homes. We will rescue animals who are homeless due to owner surrender, endangered due to abandonment/neglect/abuse, and those at risk of being euthanized at area shelters. We will place feline companions in loving homes following a comprehensive screening process which includes ensuring a good match between the animal and prospective adopter as well as educating potential adopters about the responsibilities associated with bringing a cat into their home. All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, receive appropriate veterinary care including any necessary treatment, and will be placed in caring foster homes until the time of adoption. We will work closely with local shelters and other rescue organizations to promote the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals. We will work with these agencies to develop a network of supporters and volunteers so that we may create a better world for homeless animals.

Meet Sprite

Date of Birth:Adoption Fee: $150.00Date Posted: 12/18/24Hi, My name is Sprite! I look like a tiny black panther with just an added bit of white right at my throat; it helps to make me a little unique, right?! My sister, Pixie, and I are so excited to go to our forever home. Our feline momma was pretty awesome because she gave us a great start in life. She took care of us on her own for a few weeks. Then, as we started to get bigger, she decided to seek out a bit of assistance with this whole momma thing. She took us to the doorstep of the nice human who fed her all the time as if to say, "I've got babies who are getting big and I could use some help here!"....LOL. Well, the nice human brought us inside and helped our feline momma take care of us until it was time to be weaned. Then, she called the rescue people to help us find our home. Here we are...ready to go! What should you know about me? I am one of the most curious and playful kittens you will ever meet. I can make a toy out of anything! I must investigate EVERYTHING! Do you want to hear something funny? One time I was exploring the bathtub and ended up taking a SHOWER (do not recommend, at least for kittens...I got out of there so fast!)! I love my foster mom; she knows because I start purring the minute she touches me. I express my love by playing gently with foster mom's hand and nibbling on her fingers. I back off right away if she says "Ow, not so hard!". I would NEVER want to hurt anybody! We babies need a little time to grow up and learn how to play gently with friends, that's all. I am not much of a cuddler yet. Remember all of the stuff about being curious, investigating, and exploring? That is what baby kittens do. No time to lay around and snooze the day away! One of my favorite past times is wrestling with my sister, Pixie. We chase each other all around our foster home. We would like to find a forever family who will love both of us so that we can spend the rest of our lives together just being cool kitties and having a great time. Please consider both of us? If we do not go home together, our family will need to already have a young feline playmate so that we do not get lonely when our humans are out of the house. Come see us soon! We are excited to meet you!

Adoption Process
Potential adopters are required to complete a detailed online application. Application screeners are trained to follow specific procedures when reviewing submitted applications. Adoption agreements are completed following approval of the application. Volunteers follow up with adopters to ensure that both people and pets are adjusting well as a family. Currently, adoption fees are $35 as Pippi's Place is partnering with Barrow County Animal Control to foster animals and facilitate adoptions. Pippi's Place will continue to partner with animal control facilities to support their TNR work through adoptions but will also eventually begin intake of its own rescues. At that point in time, adoption fees will increase to $100 for adults and $125 for kittens to help to cover expenses when the cost of spay/neuter, medication, etc. is no longer subsidized through the partnership with the animal control facility.
