Date of Birth: 5/1/23Adoption Fee: $100.00Date Posted: 3/16/25Hi! My name is Dawson. My brother, sister, Dixie, and I are once again looking for a place to call home. We were chosen together as tiny kittens. Our family promised our foster mom that they would love us for our whole lives but I guess humans don't always keep their promises. They told our foster mom that we had to be returned because they were moving to another state and it was too much trouble to take us with them. That made us super sad because we tried really hard to be great cats. We always used our litter box. We were gentle and very affectionate with the human children and adults. We just wanted to be loved in return. We were very scared when we first went back to the rescue but we quickly realized we were safe and that everything would be just fine. Within a few days, we were back to our happy, playful selves. Dixie and I really like to watch the birds outside the awesome glass door in our foster home. We are so smart that we know the birds are about to be fed when foster dad gets the bag of seeds and takes it outside. We sit patiently beside each other waiting for the bird show to start! I am a confident, affectionate boy who loves nothing more than to be close to my humans. My foster mom says I have a big personality! I am a "talker" who enjoys having a bit of a conversation with my humans. I am especially vocal when I think it is time for a treat! My favorite place to sleep is curled up by my foster Dad's feet keeping him warm and cozy! As soon as my humans get up, I know it is time for breakfast so I lead them straight to the kitchen chatting away just to make sure they understand what we need to do. Dixie and I are not bonded but it would be great if we could go home with our new family together. You see, Dixie can be a little shy at first so I am sure to remind her that life is good. See you soon!
Adoption Process
Potential adopters are required to complete a detailed online application. Application screeners are trained to follow specific procedures when reviewing submitted applications. Adoption agreements are completed following approval of the application. Volunteers follow up with adopters to ensure that both people and pets are adjusting well as a family.
Currently, adoption fees are $35 as Pippi's Place is partnering with Barrow County Animal Control to foster animals and facilitate adoptions. Pippi's Place will continue to partner with animal control facilities to support their TNR work through adoptions but will also eventually begin intake of its own rescues. At that point in time, adoption fees will increase to $100 for adults and $125 for kittens to help to cover expenses when the cost of spay/neuter, medication, etc. is no longer subsidized through the partnership with the animal control facility.
