In her current foster home, she coexists peacefully with the resident cat, though they mostly ignore each other. Shimmer would also do well in a home with cat-savvy children, because she doesn’t quite realize how sharp her claws are. Regular nail trims will help her out, as she has a habit of getting them stuck on things—she’s what you might call an adorable idiot! This adorable, snuggly, and silly little goofball will thrive in any home with plenty of people around to give her lots of love and attention.One of her foster mom’s favorite stories? The time Shimmer accidentally dipped her long tail in her water bowl and then smacked her foster mom with it—completely unaware that it was wet! She’s never been accused of being the sharpest tool in the shed…but she’s so dang cute her silly moments just make her cuter! Shimmer is a mix of needy and independent, alternating between curling up in your lap for endless pets and wandering off to discover new hiding spots.Her unique superpower? Shifting positions while sitting on you without ever actually getting up—she’s figured out that if she stays put, you stay put too! While her top priority is definitely snuggles, Shimmer also likes to play! Adoption Process
Thank you for your interest in Forever Fortunate Felines, a division of Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue.  We are very happy to have the opportunity to match you with your purr-fect cat-panion! Once you complete the online application using the below link, you will be able to discuss and ask questions directly to the foster parent.  We believe this is a big advantage to you as our organization is completely foster based, we really understand our cats personalities at a deep level.  This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family. In order to get the process going, would you kindly fill out our detailed online application located here:  https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/11683/generic Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue.  Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten. Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day.  Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet.  We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier.  If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day.  If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $3 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home.  We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies. Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age.  We are able to accept cash, check, paypal, or most major credit cards for the adoption fee.
