Meet Rudie

Rudie Domestic Shorthair, Born in May 2024, Dilute Tabby/Tortie, Spayed female  Hey there, I’m Rudie! I was surrendered with my kittens after my family had to move, and I’m still figuring out this whole “trusting humans” thing. But don’t let that fool you—I’m super sweet at heart.   If you’ve ever seen a turtle pop its head out of its shell, that’s kind of like me when I’m feeling brave enough to accept some pets. I’ll peek my head out of my cozy carrier, and when I do, I just love a good head scratch. I’ll lean into your touch, and I promise, if you keep it gentle, you’ll be rewarded with soft purrs and the occasional headbutt (those are my way of saying “I like you”).   I’m curious too—always watching, always interested, like I’m trying to figure out the world around me. It’s just going to take some time for me to feel fully at home. You see, I’m still healing, still adjusting, and that means I need patience and understanding. But once I get comfortable, I know I’ll be the affectionate, loving companion you’ve been waiting for.   Oh, and don’t think I’m all slow and quiet—I love to play! Give me a wand toy, and I’ll come out of my shell faster than you can say “turtle race.” I might start off a little timid, but when I’m playing, I let my true playful side shine.   I might be a little hesitant at first, but with a little kindness, you’ll see that I’m full of love to give. If you're looking for a sweet, quiet soul who just needs a little time and space to bloom, I might be the one. I can’t wait to feel safe and secure again—and I hope you’ll be the one to help me get there. Are you ready to give me that chance?   Adoption Information:  Children: Yes, older cat experienced Cats: Yes, with proper introduction Dogs: Unknown  Adoption Fee: $150  This cat is microchipped, spayed, and has had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. Adoption Process
Our adoption process has evolved from many years of experience. The goal of our adoption counselors is to make a good match between animal and family. We get to know each cat or dog's unique personality and different needs. If a specific dog, for example, has large amounts of energy and needs lots of space to run, it is unlikely that he would meet the needs of a person who works long hours and would be unable to exercise the dog. It would be a mismatch that would be bad for dog and human alike. Our adoption counselors look forward to working with you to help you find the right pet for your home.
