Gamora is a 1.5-year-old female who was surrendered to our shelter with her kittens when they were only a few weeks old. Gamora and her babies were raised and cared for in one of our loving foster homes for two months until the kittens were old enough to return. Gamora has happily watched her kittens get adopted into their forever homes, and now this sweet girl is looking for her own! Gamora will mesmerize you with her beautiful turquoise eyes which are very striking against her sleek black fur. She loves her humans but prefers not to compete with other cats for attention. She will readily seek out your attention and follow you around like a shadow, and she likes to know what you are doing so she doesn't miss mealtime or playtime. Gamora loves to play (especially with her favorite string toys!), and she enjoys being up high so a tall cat tree would be beneficial in your home. Gamora would also be content to just chill with you on the couch, either next to you or in your lap – she may even give you a loving head-butt to let you know you’re her person! We are very fond of this sweet and gentle black beauty, and we feel she deserves a loving home where she can bring joy to everyone around her. If you are interested in meeting Gamora firsthand, she can be visited at Petco-Greenfield, 4950 S. 76th St., Greenfield, WI 53220.
Adoption Process
All potential adopters must fill out an application and go through an interview. Our adoption facilitators walk them through the shelter and help them find the perfect animal that would best match their homes. After a potential adopter signs up for a specific animal, there is a cool-down period.
We do veterinarian reference checks and follow-up telephone calls on Mondays to make sure the potential adopters are still interested. After the telephone interview has taken place, a home visit is set up and the selected animal is delivered to it's new home.
Our adoption fees are $85 for one cat or kitten and $130 for two cats or kittens. The adoption fee includes various procedures which have already been performed, such as:
Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency virus tests
Distemper shots
Rabies Booster
Preventative Dewormer
Spay or neuter for all cats at least 8 months of age or older
An adoption folder complete with an "Animal Health Log Sheet" containing the cat's health history.
Kittens must be adopted in pairs if there are no other CATS in the home. Other animals (dogs, birds etc.), people and/or kids do not count.
Under no circumstances do our animals leave the shelter the same day they are signed up for.
