Meet Steve Lippy @Nine Lives Cat Café

Steven. Miss Lippy. The Thunder from Down Under. Big Steve. He’s got a million names so far and is ready for a million more. Originally thought to be a pregnant female, turns out he was just a well…rather plump little dude. Steve was so friendly after first sight, why it was believed he was a pregnant female - looking for a trusting and warm place to have a litter. The real story, is sadly more tragic. Steve is a community cat but not by choice - he became one out of necessity. Steve was dumped by his previous “family” at a school park and left to fend for himself just before this past harsh winter. Luckily Steve’s friendly personality and prior experience with humans made him trusting and comfortable around people. He quickly made himself at home on his foster’s porch and claimed the couch as his domain. Steve rarely moved from that couch except to come down for some grub or greet his foster at the car when getting home from work. As the temperature dropped and became unsafe for him to be outside any longer, he was moved into a bedroom to be safe from the elements. Steve has thrived inside, further proving he is best suited to keep his time outdoors brief. He’s learned to love hanging out in window sills, napping on chests, and being a constant source of goofy antics. Everyone that meets Steve, loves Steve. He’s a jolly big guy who just loves attention and being around the action. Being held up in a single bedroom isn’t providing him with the ability to get out and get all his goofy going every day. He wants to run around and play and explore, something he just sadly isn’t able to be provided right now with his foster’s resident cats. He loves playing with the younger cats, but the seniors seems to disapprove of him being a big kid - thus why he’s looking for a forever home. He seems to do well with other cats, and likes to play, but seems unsure around dogs. It breaks my heart to think I won’t soon have Steve in my life every day, but all that is washed away thinking about how much happier he’ll be once he’s settled with a living family that can give him all the space and opportunity to let loose. he truly is a joy to be around. He absolutely cherishes his people and is always happy to receive attention and love. He is a polydactyl too! Speaking of his paws, I believe his nails may have gained a little extra “spiciness” from adjusting to the needs of the outdoors, but I’ve clipped his front paws a couple times and he doesn’t mind one bit. Please don’t let this one small and manageable “issue” prevent you from adopting Steve. I only mention it because I want nothing but the best for him and to make sure he’s going to the best situation possible. He just couldn’t be totally perfect so he needed something, otherwise he’d make all other cats jealous!! He’s just an easy going dude. That’s Steve for you though, just a chill people’s person (cat!) that’s ready to join you for some playtime bonding with toys or just as comfortable snuggling up with you in the couch. He has range. Steve could easily be an international icon, but he said he’s happy just being the star of his next family’s world. Opening your home up to Steve will open your heart up to a lifetime of unconditional love. He is spayed, UTd on vaccines and tested negative for FIV/FelV. Litterbox trained. His birthday is 9-15-23 Steve Lippy will be at Nine Lives Cat Cafe 3/28/25 until 4/15/25.
