100Meet Simi
When you have been through many wars defending your territory and are warrior incarnate and then you get trapped by a volunteer at Catsnap life changes. Simi really has a heart made of butter and loves all (except cats that want to fight him). He was neutered the day of this picture and took it in stride. He is not sure what it means but he got a nice nap out of it. He has the shape of a semi-truck and the disposition of an angel and the looks of a heavy weight boxer. His bad days are over and soon he will be with someone who, when they cuddle him, will see only the face of a champion. Because of his hard life and his fighting other male cats he did test positive for FIV. Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common and consequential infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to many other infections. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans. Thank you for your interest in a Catsnap cat or kitten! If you would like to meet a cat, please complete the online application located on our website catsnap.org. We do not have a walk-in facility; most of our cats are in foster homes. For this reason, we require an approved application on file before we set up a meet and greet. Completing an online application does not obligate you to adopt! We care deeply about our cats and want the best match for all involved. All CATSNAP cats and kittens: Initial vaccination against Panleukopenia (Distemper), Rhinotracheitis, and Calicivirus [cats] Vaccination against Rabies (if animal is over 4 months of age) Testing for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) [cats] Initial de-worming, flea, and ear mite treatment Sterilization of the animal prior to adoption; no exceptions Micro-chipping as mandated by state law
