Meet Nelly

Nelly was a stray fending for herself outside after reportedly being put out by her original owners. She was not faring well. One of our fosters knew she needed help and offered to foster her if we took her into our rescue. Of course we said yes! Nelly is very affectionate but quirky in how she accepts attention from humans. We aren't sure if she was undersocialized in her early months and/or if humans mistreated her but she is leery of hands even though she rubs all over you wanting love. She will nip at her foster mom as well even when she is demanding attention. She hasn't been with us long so we are hopeful she will continue to adjust but she may always be a little quirky and will need a family who lets her call the shots on if she wants to be touched or not. For this reason, we are recommending a home without young children. Nelly loves meat tubes so she's requesting a family who will continue to give those to her as well!

Adoption Process
Pets are altered, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption. Adopters must complete an application and contract and pay fee (which varies based on age and type of animal). They also must provide references and pass a home visit.
