Cenla Cat Project

My husband, myself, and a friend have seen a need for a cat rescue in our area. My husband and I are both retired (he was a dba and I was a guidance counselor). We are just starting out. We plan to start with adoptions. All cats must be fully vetted (spay/neuter is essential) before they can be adopted. Education about spay/neuter and cat care are a big part of our agenda. We have our 501 (c)(3). Our adoption program is foster based. We hope to have a shelter/adoption center in the next 2 years. We have been working with another local rescue for 3 years whose emphasis is dogs. We see a real need for a cat rescue in the area and are trying to make an impact on cat over-population.

Meet Steven

Meet Steven. A sleek, one-year-old tuxedo cat with eyes that seem to see *everything*. He appeared out of nowhere, a stray from the shadows, like something out of a forgotten story. But don’t let his mysterious entrance fool you—Steven craves attention. *He’ll find you,* weaving silently around your legs, eyes locked on yours, as if he's reading your very thoughts.  Steven isn’t just handsome—he’s *mesmerizing*. With fur as black as midnight and a white chest as bright as moonlight, this cat was made for the spotlight. He gets along with everyone—cats, dogs, even kids—and seems to know just how to keep them all entertained. Playtime with feather toys? Steven’s in his element. He stalks them like a predator in the wild, and you can almost hear the *whisper of danger* as he strikes. But when the hunt is over, he’ll curl up beside you, his soft purr filling the silence.  He’s a companion—*the perfect one*. A great family pet who thrives on snuggles, but you’ll always feel there’s more to him, just beneath the surface. Steven is indoor only, and don’t even think about declawing him—that’s strictly *prohibited* by contract. Adopt Steven, and you’ll never be alone in the dark again.

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete an application and sign a contract. They must agree to provide care for the cat, not to declaw it, and return it to us if unable to care for it. In general, the adoption fee will be $100, it may be less for older cats.
