Cenla Cat Project

My husband, myself, and a friend have seen a need for a cat rescue in our area. My husband and I are both retired (he was a dba and I was a guidance counselor). We are just starting out. We plan to start with adoptions. All cats must be fully vetted (spay/neuter is essential) before they can be adopted. Education about spay/neuter and cat care are a big part of our agenda. We have our 501 (c)(3). Our adoption program is foster based. We hope to have a shelter/adoption center in the next 2 years. We have been working with another local rescue for 3 years whose emphasis is dogs. We see a real need for a cat rescue in the area and are trying to make an impact on cat over-population.

Meet Avocado

Meet Avocado – The Sweet and Shy Tabby Princess! Avocado is a quiet and slightly shy female tabby kitten with a heart full of love and a playful side that shines when she’s ready to have fun. She’s looking for a special home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished. About Avocado: Gentle Personality: Avocado is a little shy at first but warms up with patience and affection. She loves lap time, warm blankets, and sunny windows for the perfect cozy nap. Princess Vibes: You’ll often find her snuggled up on a blanket on the bed, looking every bit like the sleeping princess she is. Playful Side: When the mood strikes, Avocado transforms into a high-energy kitten, ready to chase toys and zoom around the room. Social Butterfly: She’s friendly with older children, dogs, and other cats, making her a lovely addition to a calm and loving home. Avocado is indoor only, and declawing is prohibited by contract. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly kitten with a playful side, Avocado is ready to be your princess. Could she be the one for you?

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete an application and sign a contract. They must agree to provide care for the cat, not to declaw it, and return it to us if unable to care for it. In general, the adoption fee will be $100, it may be less for older cats.
