Tyson's Place Animal Rescue

We began taking in animals in 2015. Our rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets. We interpret this mission to mean we help people going into nursing homes, assisted living, hospice, managing illness, and after the owner has passed away. We want to provide people and pets with peace of mind. We want owners to know their animals are well cared for and to keep senior animals out of shelters.

Meet Charlie

At 15 years old, Charlie has lived a life of love and lost. She was the beloved feline companion to her owner for most of her life, but when her owner passed away, the family didn't want her and tossed her outside. Charlie is a house cat and didn't know how to survive outdoors. She hunkered down in the bushes in her neighborhood, relying on scraps from the neighbors. By the time a cat lover heard about her plight and took her in, Charlie had lost a ton of weight, had fleas and parasites and ear infections. This cat lover brought Charlie to the vet and brought her back to health. Our rescue assists terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets, including after the owner has passed away. We brought Charlie to a foster home, where she is getting lots of love and attention. She is friendly and outgoing, immediately exploring the new environment. She is a lap cat and enjoys cuddling. She has some typical age-related issues: she is deaf (so her meows come out loud - she can't help it!) and has arthritis that we are treating with pain medication so she has the best quality of life. She loves sleeping on a heating pad.  She is used to being the only cat in the household and would thrive in a quiet environment. If you are looking for a senior kitty to love for the rest of her days, she is your girl! She is healthy, fixed, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and had full bloodwork. Adoption Process
We have an adoption application, which is reviewed by a committee, we then do a visit with the animal, and if everything goes well, an adoption contact is signed. Depending on the medical needs of the animals, the adoption fee ranges from waived to $175.
