Meet IRIS

Iris is a 10-year-old gray and white cat with an understated beauty that’s hard to miss. Her soft, velvety fur, adorned with delicate white patches, gives her a graceful appearance, and her striking green eyes are windows to a soul that longs for peace and comfort. She’s the kind of cat whose elegance shines through in her every movement, making her a truly special companion.Iris' journey to the shelter was not by choice. She came to us after her beloved owner, who had always cared for her, could no longer do so due to dementia. This abrupt change in her life has left Iris feeling shy and a bit overwhelmed. The bustling environment of the shelter is a lot for her to take in, and she’s been quietly waiting for someone to see past her timid exterior and offer her the love and stability she craves.Despite her initial shyness, there’s a deep well of affection within Iris, waiting to be unlocked by the right person. She needs a quiet, serene home where she can take her time to adjust and feel secure. A household with older, understanding children would be ideal—ones who can give her the patience she needs to come out of her shell at her own pace. With time, Iris is sure to reveal her true self—a gentle, loving companion who will offer quiet companionship and loyalty to those who show her kindness. Imagine her perched by a sunny window, watching the world go by, or curling up beside you as you read a book. She’s the kind of cat who will bring a sense of peace and warmth to your home.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.I am available at:Pet Supplies Plus42241 Garfield RdClinton Twp, MI 48038586-228-0090My adoption fee is $25.00
