Meet Onyx-(Black)

Meet Onyx! Never have we ever met a kitten as gentle and cuddly as Onyx!  Onyx is an almost entirely black short-hair male who came to us pretty cold and hungry after being found with his siblings in Bloomington, MN at about 4 weeks old.  He has been THRIVING in his foster home!  Onyx has an estimated birthdate of October 6th and has tested negative for felv/fiv.  He will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready for his new home on January 13th, 2025 (about 13 weeks old). This laid back little man is well adjusted to kids, new people, other cats and dogs (both big and small).  He has done well on car rides and has no fear of the robovac or of a beginner trumpet player .  Onyx is fully litterbox trained and eating both canned and solid kitten food.  He is now ready to meet his forever family and we have no doubt that he will quickly steal a piece of your heart, as he has ours!If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.

Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
