Meet Smoky ~No Longer Acception Adoption Requests~
Meet Smoky!Smoky is full of FUN! Smoky is a fun-loving and sweet kitten who is ready to bring endless joy (and a little bit of mischief) into your home! With a playful spirit and an affection for anything that moves, this little furball will keep you laughing with his hilarious pounces and his attempts to “help” you with everything from sweeping the floor to making the bed. Smoky is a long-haired male with, ironically, a "smoky" colored coat (lighter colored underneath and darker on top). He came to us pretty cold and hungry after being found with his siblings in Bloomington, MN at about 4 weeks old. He has been THRIVING in his foster home! Smoky has an estimated birthdate of October 6th and has tested negative for felv/fiv. He will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready for his new home on January 13th, 2025 (about 13 weeks old). This insta-purr boy is well adjusted to kids, new people, other cats and dogs (both big and small). Smoky has no fear of the robovac or of a beginner trumpet player . However, he does not love car rides! He has gotten car sick one time, followed by kinda hiding in the corner of his kennel for the remainder of the drive. Once home he was very happy to be out of the car and continued on with his playful adventures. Smoky is fully litterbox trained and eating both canned and solid kitten food. Smoky is bonded with "Mouse" (female), preference to keeping them together. Kittens are better in pairs and although not required, our preference is to see siblings adopted together -OR- having another cat in the home so that they can continue their socialization. Smoky is part of a sibling group. His other brother is "Onyx" and his sister is "Ashlyn", also available for adoption through The Rescue Crew.Whether it's chasing after toys or curling up in your lap for a cozy nap, Smoky is ready for it all. If you're ready for some lovable fun and a constant source of joy, Smoky can’t wait to join your family! If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
