Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Vivianne

***The first step to adoption is completing the application at www.emmetcountyaminalshelter.org*** Hi I'm Vivianne!  I am vocal girl that knows what she wants and will tell you.  You can see that I'm pretty but you might not be able to tell that I'm also really smart.  The people here say I'm a bit of a Diva and I'm taking it as a compliment!  My friends and I were in a home where there were too many cats for the lady to take care of so a group of thoughtful people came in, got us to a vet and then we made our way here to the ECAS.  I'm ready to go back to a home now though.  I do fine with the other cats as long as they understand I get to call the shots!  I would be fine on my own too.  I feel at a minimum, my next new home must have sunny windows, soft pillows for naps and delicious treats. I am about 5 years old now so I also want this to be my last home so please only apply if we are meant to be together for my forever! I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations, FeLV/FIV negative and I have a microchip too!  As always adoptions fees are free will to approved applicants.  But frankly I feel like I'm priceless!

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.
