Meet Samuel / Anders
Samuel (1-year) and Anders (5-months) are sweet silly young tuxedos excited to find their forever home together! Samuel is estimated to be about 9 months old—his magnificent fluffy coat makes him look big and fierce, but he is a sweet, shy, sensitive soul. His favorite thing in the world is being brushed and he will reward you with purrs when you groom him (and judge you with small meows if you stop or pause). Anders is a 4.5-month-old kitten with a small body and BIG purr, who was placed with Samuel when they were rescued as individuals. (Although not related, they look like big-and-small mirror images of each other!) Their fosters jokingly refer to Anders as Samuel's emotional support kitten, and he has really taken the title to heart! Like many kittens, Anders' favorite activity is playing (with Samuel, with people, or on his own with toys) but snuggling for hours on end with Samuel is a close second choice. Luckily, Samuel has also learned to love both playing and snuggling, and having Anders around has been an incredible confidence booster for the more reserved Sam! After breakfast and pets, they love to curl up together on a cat tree and snooze the day away. The evening is for playtime, wrestling, and maybe a lap or two before they settle in for the night. They both are wary of big open spaces and are good at finding hiding spots but are getting braver by the day. This gorgeous pair will thrive with relaxed, patient humans who will let them explore at their own pace. They are quite calm most of the time, despite their young age! In the evening (and occasionally at other times of day), they get the zoomies and will chase, ambush, wrestle and chirp-meow adorably at one another. Samuel loves to lurk in a tunnel or behind a box and wait for Anders to find him. Anders loves vigorously attacking Samuel's bushy tail, small soft toys, and wands. Anders is also VERY into using a human lap as a launch pad, landing zone, or obstacle course component! The rest of the time, you can find them spooning and sleeping quietly. They are the perfect combo of kitten-y entertainment and adult cat laziness. These fancy tuxedo boys currently live in a house with two adult humans. Although they have access to the vast majority of the house, they prefer to stay in just one or two rooms. They are expanding their territory bit by bit, but both are still scared of wide-open rooms, fast movements, or unexpected happenings. They would be fine in a house or an apartment and will undoubtedly get more courageous and adventurous when they feel comfortable and safe in their forever home! Samuel and Anders would love to end up with a person or people who will continue to socialize and spoil them with brushing, pets, toys and company. They are extremely respectful work-from-home office-mates (they love their cat tree next to their foster parent's desk) but also are totally fine spending the day with just each other so long as they get human interaction after work. They would likely be best in a family with no kids, or with gentle older kids who understand boundaries and are able to move calmly—both sweet boys get scared and hide when confronted with unexpected movements or noises near them, so they may be freaked out by the excitement of small kids (for now, at least). It's been amazing to see how much this matched set of tuxedos care about each other! Samuel's love of being brushed and Anders' kitten antics will keep their adopters smiling—as will witnessing their heart-melting snuggle sessions! If you have a calm, relaxed home and would like to help this amazing pair become confident and comfortable while giving and receiving double the tuxedo love, Samuel and Anders are so ready to meet you!
