Meet Midnight / Snickers
Midnight (12) and Snickers (8) are a bonded bundle of Yin and Yang and a whole lot of character and sweetness! Midnight, the extrovert with emerald eyes, might as well be named Shadow for he travels wherever his foster goes, telling stories and sharing opinions. His favorite tales begin with “mop, mop” and often end with a “maah?” that sounds like he’s asking a question. A very confident fella, he readily inserts himself into the middle of the action, the middle of Zoom meetings, and anywhere his foster family sits. Snickers, the introvert, approaches life with inquisitive caution. He warms slowly but loves deeply. While he enjoys a good brushing, wriggling and rolling to the touch, he returns the favor by grooming his human, using his front paw to gently hold his foster’s hand. For all his quiet moments, Snickers is also playful and chatty. The Cat Dancer is his favorite play-together toy. When alone, he’ll bat stuffed mice and poms, chasing them down the hall, providing commentary as he follows. The two siblings often curl together when snoozing or sit side by side watching wildlife out the window. Both love to follow the sunbeams as they move across the windows. Midnight is a counter surfer, and his foster humans have learned to keep anything edible out of his reach. Snickers and Midnight like to sample the houseplants, so their new home needs to be free of all toxic plants—cat-safe plants or fake plants only, please! Snickers is in good health. He recently had his teeth cleaned and three teeth pulled. Midnight has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and irritable bowel disease, both of which have been managed well with medication. When he’s hungry, his pills can be cut into small pieces and hidden in food. Although he doesn’t love having his mouth pried open to be given a pill, he doesn’t hold a grudge. He gladly accepts a kiss on the nose and a big hug after. His forever family will have to be dedicated to helping him live his best healthy life going forward. The pair currently eat Fancy Feast pate and Purina One Urinary—the foods they were eating when they came to into fostering. We have not tried alternate diets yet, as we were waiting to be sure the medications were working before switching foods. These cutie pies live in an empty nest foster home comprised of 2 adults. They would do well in a quiet home whose people have experience caring for cautious cats and those with medical needs. Both are comfortable with the resident dog who is respectful of his feline friends. This pair is sweet, affectionate, and so ready to find a loving, forever home. Could that be with you?
