Hi, I’m Dumplin! I’m the sweet black-and-white kitten with a heart full of love and a knack for finding the coziest spots to nap! I’m one of five siblings—my brother Coop is the only boy, and then there’s my three wonderful sisters: Chickira (the gentle tortie), Dixie (the smaller, dark tabby), and Peeps (the playful tabby with the most white fur). We all came to our human on October 28th, after being rescued from a chicken coop. That’s why we all have these fun chicken-themed names! I think Dumplin fits me perfectly—I’m soft, sweet, and always ready for a cuddle. We spend our days playing, chasing toys, and climbing over each other. But honestly, my favorite part of the day is when we all curl up together for a nap. I’m the one who’s usually found tucked up with my siblings, purring away as we all nap in a cozy pile. When we hear our human’s voice or know it’s time for food, we come running like a little kitten army! We’re all such purr machines and love to show our affection. We get along so well with the resident cat at our foster home—he’s calm, friendly, and we like being near him, though we mostly give him some space. The two golden retrievers? Well, they’re a bit scary, but we’re all getting braver! We like to sneak up to them, sniff them out, and sometimes we even try to snuggle them when we’re feeling extra bold. I’m a very social kitten, and I think I’d do best in a home where I have another kitten or a friendly cat to keep me company. I’m really close to my siblings, and I know we’d get lonely if we were separated. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving kitten who’s ready to shower you with affection, then I might just be the one for you! I’m located in Clear Lake, and I usually meet people at the PetSmart in Monticello for exchanges. Let me know if you’d like to see more pictures of me and my siblings—we’d love to share them with you! Purrs, snuggles, and lots of kitten love, Dumplin Dumplin is from a stray surrender with 4 siblings. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
