Meet Tesla (Blind) (on a trial run)
Tesla is cautious, careful, guarded and alert. He steps along with sensory substitution as he cannot see. Tesla was born without eyes. He will move around the house at slow speed only to pick up the pace once he is familiar with the layout of the home. Tesla likes to be carried by clinging to his human companion's shoulder. He will make his way to your bed, sleep there for the night but will need assistance to get off the bed or most high places. Tesla can maneuver up the stairs and recently learned how to make his way back down. He can be aggressive with head bumps when he wants petting! Tesla is a quiet kitty only to use his voice when he is in distress. He depends on sound to get around, such as, the mews from his littermate Herbie, the sound of a human's voice, a finger snap or the sound of stomping shoes. Tesla suckles a soft blanket for comfort. His ideal home is with an individual, couple or family; a home with a stable and predictable environment, a home where furniture is not rearranged, his food dishes stay in the same location and creating Tesla's personal safe area. He gets along with other cats and occasionally follows his littermate Herbie by way of his meows and at times, they are grooming each other or playing chase. Tesla has no fear of a cat-friendly dog. He has a black coat with a mitted pattern. As of October 2024, Tesla is 4 months old. The cause of his condition is either genetics or a missing chromosome or infection during fetal development. Tesla's immediate treatment plan is to be adored and pampered, and occasionally wipe his eyes to keep them clean and dry.
