YesEarl was found in rural Missouri at a gas station where he had been hanging around for days. He jumped into his rescuers car unassisted. She had no carrier as she was not planning to encounter a cat. He sat on her lap the whole way home. He was very sick and skinny. Over the months of October and November his Heartland foster mom nursed him to health - Had him Neutered! - and now he is ready for his forever home. He is very vocal and loves to talk. He seems to like other cats though could be an only if he will get a lot of attention. He has a very dog like personality. He felt pretty threatened by the dog at his foster home so we don't think he would enjoy a dog. He must be an inside cat because he lived outside for so long. He would likely revert to survival mode and run off if he were let outside.
Adoption Process
the first step in our process is an
application. The questions on the application are designed to
determine if the pet would be a good fit in this home. We contact the
applicants veterinarian to verify they have a good history of
previous (or current) pet care. We meet the applicant at Petsmart or
at their home to allow them to interact with the pet they are
interested in adopting. If all goes well the adoption is finalized.
We have an adoption contract, requiring regular vet care, indoor
homes, return to us if it doesnt work out, etc. Our dog adoption fee
is $175, cats range from $80 for older cats to $125 for kittens
