Meet Aubrey
Meet Aubrey, Our Heartland Diva! This sweet lady has been part of our Heartland family for many years, and she’s truly a special one. At 11 years old, Aubrey has seen it all and has earned her status as a queen (with a touch of diva, of course!). She loves people, but always on her terms, and has definitely mellowed with age.Last year, Aubrey faced some health challenges with a diagnosis of stomatitis, which led to the removal of most of her teeth. Thankfully, she’s fully healed now, and is enjoying life pain-free with her canines intact. She’s back to eating her favorite meals and being the sassy, lovable cat we know and adore.Aubrey may be a bit of a curmudgeon at times, but she’s all heart. She’ll gladly snuggle up on your lap (as long as you know when to give her space), and will let you know if she’s had enough attention—either with a little grumble or a swat. She’s not a fan of being picked up or getting her nails done, but that just adds to her charm! She gets along well with one of my other long-time cats, as long as her space is respected, but she prefers a quiet, calm home—no kids or dogs, please. Aubrey needs a cat-savvy person who understands feline boundaries and can give her the space she deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, independent companion who will warm your heart (and lap), Aubrey is the one! #AubreyTheDiva #SeniorCatLove #ChristmasCat #HeartlandCats
Adoption Process
the first step in our process is an
application. The questions on the application are designed to
determine if the pet would be a good fit in this home. We contact the
applicants veterinarian to verify they have a good history of
previous (or current) pet care. We meet the applicant at Petsmart or
at their home to allow them to interact with the pet they are
interested in adopting. If all goes well the adoption is finalized.
We have an adoption contract, requiring regular vet care, indoor
homes, return to us if it doesnt work out, etc. Our dog adoption fee
is $175, cats range from $80 for older cats to $125 for kittens
