Joyful Rescues, Inc.

Since our humble beginnings in December 2002, Joyful Rescues has grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit corporate team of volunteer animal lovers reaching out to help homeless dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in need of love, affection and forever homes. We are a no-kill shelter – meaning we never euthanize for space. Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.

Meet Harold

Harold was born around April 14, 2023, and is a larger-sized kitty who could stand to lose a pound.  Here is the email from Harold's previous owner, explaining why he is with us.  " This is definitely a problem of me not being able to adapt to having a young cat in my home, although believe me I've tried. He has a lot of playful energy and can't keep up with it all the time - I spend so much time playing with him, training him, interacting with him - it's not conducive to my busy life and I find myself wishing I had this time back to myself or my dog, because I don't really like him to be honest. I've built him things to climb on, take him outside, give him puzzles to play with, even read a book on cat behavior to try to understand him better. But he follows me around and does stuff to get my attention all the time, like chew on stuff he finds on the floor, getting into places he shouldn't be - I know it's typical cat behavior but when I'm not in the mood I don't have the patience and I take it out on him by yelling and scaring him."   Well, we are certainly glad Harold's previous owner reached out to us, and we were able to get him out of that situation.   Harold has been an absolute joy to get to know.  He is your typical happy, young, cat who loves humans and is great with other cats and dogs. Harold is going to be an amazing addition to your family!  A cat can live 12-18+ years if cared for properly. Be sure you are able to care for it for its lifetime. The ADOPTION FEE for this feline is:  75.00. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.  All kittens/cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, treated for fleas and tested negative for FIV/FELV.
