Meet Merry
Introducing....Miss. Merrykins! (aka "Merry") If you are on the lookout for a high-profile, highly-interactive forever furbaby, then you must consider meeting the ever so marvelous Miss. Merry! This lovely blue mackerel tabby was estimated to be approx. 2yo and weighed in at only 8 lbs when rescued from a city shelter in April, 2024. Since then, Merry has found her voice and added more than 5 pounds to her sturdy frame as she has adjusted to the safety and comfort of her foster human's home. This sweet girl is now a talker who not only responds to her name, she will readily initiate and carry on entire conversations with you! She adores small jingle balls and pom-poms when not assuming the role of official taste-tester for any glass of water that Merry's foster human pours. While not a snuggler, Merry orbits around her foster and settles in within an arm length or two at night. Anytime her foster leaves, Merry provides accompaniment to the door and comes to greet her foster upon her foster's return, with much to say every time! Merry has made tremendous strides since she was rescued, indicating that she has the potential to resolve her remaining quirks with the love of her purrfect forever family. These include Merry marking the sink after her foster has washed dishes and the bathtub after Merry's foster has showered, and Merry swiping/biting when overstimulated. Merry's foster has been working with Merry to remedy these behaviors, and she has made significant improvement! Of note, Merry's agression is not triggered by anger or wariness, but the opposite; she has a fabulous rumble-truck purr and readily seeks out affection, but she sometimes becomes overwhelmed by her own enjoyment! Other than these unique quirks, Miss. Merrykins has no bad habits and she requires no special care. She shares food bowls, litter boxes, cat perches and her foster human with ease. Her lovely short coat is not predisposed to matting, nor does Merry seem to shed all that much. Merry gets along exceedingly well with other cats who allow her to assume the Queen-of-the-House role; she would NOT be a good fit for a home with another mature female cat who has already claimed that role. Merry has no known experience with dogs, but much like her tolerance of other cats, Merry's foster suspects that Merry could readily adapt to a dog sibling, as long as the dog is easy-going and tolerates Merry in all of her sassafras glory. Due to Merry's quirks, she is best suited for a home without small children and without someone with delicate/thin skin. Her perfect forever human is someone who would delight in chatting up this darling and relish all of her antics for the rest of her days. While in the care of Keller's Kats, Miss. Merrykins has been spayed, microchipped, tested, vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and thoroughly vet-checked. She is healthy, hardy, and ready to begin her happily-ever-after with her forever family.
