Meet Wyeth - a remarkable survival story
Wyeth is our miracle cat who was found after being locked in an apartment building basement , intentionally starved for 3 weeks. The super kicked him to the curb and a neighbor found him barely alive on the street. We rushed him to the incredible City Vet and then Guardian Veterinary Specialists who no doubt saved his life. It is a true miracle and testament to his will to survive that he has come back from the brink of death, and is now FLOURISHING in his absolutely incredible and dedicated foster home in upstate CT. His foster, in fact, overheard us talking about discharging Wyeth while she was bringing her dog to Guardian Vet Specialists in Brewster , NY. She later reached out to us asking if he needed a foster. It was a serendipitous moment that we were in the same place at the same time. She has done a remarkable job at helping Wyeth regain his strength . His fur is shiny and full again, from the dull patchy fur when we got him. The wound on his neck of unknown origin, is now fully healed, and his weight and bloodwork are remarkable. Wyeth is estimated at a 8 to 10 years old. He has a few less teeth due to the malnutrition and neglect he was subject to, and seems to do best on a sensitive stomach diet (not a prescription diet). Wyeth was previously neutered at some point in his life. He is thankfully negative for FIV and FELV, and microchipped and vaccinated. If you would like to see his full story, before and after photo and video, you can email us, or check out our Instagram or Facebook for Wyeth update posts dating back to March 2024! It's been one remarkable journey and we feel he is ready to find his perfect home to treat him with kindness for the rest of his life. More photo and video of him to follow! Adoption Process
We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.
