Meet Shireen
Shireen is our laundry room supervisor, quality control for blankets and towels, and a professional princess and the pea. While we love seeing her beautiful bleps and sweet snaggletooth every day, what we'd love even more is to find her a home of her own (where she can also oversee household chores). Shireen is still young, but you may not know it looking at her. This sweet girl lost part of her lower jaw after an injury went untreated before she came to us. Now that she's had time to heal, she's doing great. Her little tongue still hangs out sometimes due to her jaw, so we promise it's not because she's being rude! Shireen is on prescription wet food for kidney issues. Her adoption is sponsored, meaning her adoption fee is waived. She's also the first official member of our new program for cats with special needs. Under this program, all of her food and medical needs will be paid by Second Chance for the rest of her life. Shireen is looking for a quiet home without other cats so she can eat her special food freely. She tolerates dogs as long as they are not super hyper. Shireen is affectionate, loves her pets and scratches, and will come out of her cozy spot and purr her head off as soon as you walk into the room. However, since she's been here so long, making her home in the laundry room and lobby areas, she may need some time, space and patience to come out of her shell in a new home. She's a fan of soft beds, laying in the sunshine, and having intellectual conversations (her part consisting mostly of meows). If you are interested in Shireen, fill out an application at www.secondchance.org/adopt or at the shelter during open hours. For questions, call us at 570-376-3646.
