Meet Mr. T and Muffins
THESE KITTIES ARE COURTESY POSTINGS AND NOT SAFE AT LAST ANIMALS. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE CONTACT THEIR CARETAKER DIRECTLY: DALE MILTON, [email protected] (980-892-1119), or JESSICA MILTON (518-929-6319). These kitties are located in Wynantskill, NY. They need to be re-homed from their current family due to children developing allergies. If you are interested, YOU MUST CONTACT DALE OR JESSICA per email or phone numbers listed above. Meet Mr. T & Muffins! Mr. T is an 8 year old male cat with gray fur, white mittens and belly, and pink pads. Muffins is a 4 year old female cat with dark gray fur, gray pads, and green eyes. Muffins is shy when company is over, and will only appear with Mr. T or after company leaves. She is definitely a baby, and feels very safe with Mr. T. These two have been inseperable, and they should be adopted out together. When Muffins was brought into the home, Mr. T immediately took her under his wing. They cuddle all day, and walk the house together as they use the litter robot, eat, lay in their cat tree, or get treats. Mr. T and Muffins are spayed and neutered. They are not declawed. They are completely house trained. They use a litter robot, and we have all loved it. No scooping, no mess, we just change the bag once weekly. Prior to upgrading to the robot, they used a litter igloo. Prior to the igloo upgrade, they used a traditional rectangle litter. So these two adapt to any litter box you may use. They have never had an accident in the house. We have used various types of litter as well, and they were always great with any kind. They have only been indoor cats. They have lived with dogs. They eat any dry cat food, and love cat treats. They don't play with cat toys much- they take some encouraging. They enjoy laying on an area by a window (like the cat tree, or a window sill). They will come to cuddle if you are welcoming, and will let you pet them. They are great when we brush them, although they don't really shed much hair. They loved the cat lounger/scratcher we had fpr them, and they would love to have one of those in their new home. They also love to have cat nip sprinkled on their cat tree scratcher areas. If you are willing and able to welcome these sweet cats into your home, please contact Dale at [email protected] (980-892-1119) or Jessica (518-929-6319).
Adoption Process
The adoption process will begin with an extensive adoption application, accessible on our website. In addition to a series of questions (e.g., to ascertain the adopter's likes/dislikes, lifestyle, and general suitability), the application will require, among other things, a veterinary reference and two personal (non-family member) references. In lieu of a veterinary references, we will require 3 personal references. We will also require submission of digital photos of home and yard, as well as a home visit. Approved adopters will be required to take their pup or dog to the vet within 7 days of adoption. Each animal adopted from Safe At Last will go home with a medical booklet, complete with all details of vetting done prior to adoption, with explicit instructions as to the follow up required. All animals will be UTD with all age appropriate shots prior to adoption, and barring any health reasons that would preclude it, they will be placed on topical protection for fleas/ticks, and based on age, also started on heartworm preventative (or provided with the first dose). Any animals older than 4 months will be spayed/neutered before adoptions. For animals under 4 months old, the adoption contract will require spay/neuter by the time the animal is 6 months of age. We will require proof of same and will assign one of our members to have the task of following up on proof of spay and neuter. Under the contract, the adoptive family will not "own" the animal until we have received proof of spay and neuter. Failure to have the surgery performed will allow us, under the contract, to reclaim the pet.
