DOB: 9/21/2023 Life hasn’t been easy for Fortitude. She spent her first two years knowing the comfort of a home, only to find herself surrendered and starting over. And let’s just say—she’s not about to let anyone in without a fight. Fortitude has built walls around her heart, not because she doesn’t want love, but because she’s afraid of being hurt again. She’s got a bit of spice, a little sass, and a whole lot of personality. But beneath that fiery exterior? There’s a cat who once knew love, and maybe—just maybe—she’s hoping to find it again. She’s looking for someone with the fortitude to earn her trust, someone who won’t back down at the first hiss, someone who understands that the best relationships take time. Break through her walls, and you’ll find a fiercely loyal, deeply loving companion who was just waiting for the right person to prove they’re worth her heart. Are you up for the challenge? Fortitude is waiting. Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**
Adoption Process
We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $100 for kittens (4 months and younger), $85 for kittens 5 or 6 months, $75 for adult cats, $50 for Wise Whiskers (7 years and older). We often have adoption specials where the adoption fees are lowered. The adoption fee includes the animals already being spayed/neutered, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), all vaccinations (FVRCP and DHLPP), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies adopted are not old enough to have received a rabies vaccine, then the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done), microchip, flea/tick/heartworm preventative.
