DOB: 1/30/2023 Calvin is a handsome, beefy tom cat with a little extra love to give. He came to Colony Cats with a neck wound from his rough life outside, but that’s just part of his past. Today, Calvin is friendly, affectionate, and ready to find a human who’ll offer him all the love and care he deserves. With his slightly sad and serious face, Calvin may look like he's seen a lot, but don't let that fool you—his heart is as big as they come. He loves people, enjoys being around humans, and is always ready for some quality time with his favorite person. Though his past has shaped him, Calvin's true personality shines through in his gentle nature and desire for companionship. If you’re looking for a cat who may come off as a bit stoic at first but will warm your heart with his big, loving presence, Calvin could be the purrfect addition to your family. He’s ready to leave his rough past behind and start a new chapter with someone who sees the beauty beneath his serious expression. Come meet me at the cage free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection. FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered. Adoption Process
We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $100 for kittens (4 months and younger), $85 for kittens 5 or 6 months, $75 for adult cats, $50 for Wise Whiskers (7 years and older). We often have adoption specials where the adoption fees are lowered. The adoption fee includes the animals already being spayed/neutered, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), all vaccinations (FVRCP and DHLPP), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies adopted are not old enough to have received a rabies vaccine, then the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done), microchip, flea/tick/heartworm preventative.
