Hi, My name is Scar. Someone gave me that name because I have a small scar on my nose. My original family abandoned me and I was living on the streets for quite awhile. Then this nice lady from Colony Cats found me and brought me inside. She realized how sweet and friendly I am. Now I’m looking for a home of my own with someone who will love me and take care of me forever. I am a big guy who likes sunny windows for birdwatching. I’m looking for a person who will pet me, brush me (I love to be brushed!), and let me sit on their lap. I also like my person to be near me when I eat. Can you tell I’m a cat who loves people? What I don’t like is other cats - I need to be an only cat. Scar’s foster is unsure how we would do with dogs but thinks he would do well with children. DOB: 1/17/2020 Come meet me at Petco Lennox Town Center. All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**
Adoption Process
We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $100 for kittens (4 months and younger), $85 for kittens 5 or 6 months, $75 for adult cats, $50 for Wise Whiskers (7 years and older). We often have adoption specials where the adoption fees are lowered. The adoption fee includes the animals already being spayed/neutered, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), all vaccinations (FVRCP and DHLPP), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies adopted are not old enough to have received a rabies vaccine, then the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done), microchip, flea/tick/heartworm preventative.
