Black and Orange Cat Foundation

We were started two years ago to try to decrease the cat overpopulation problem in our largely rural area of Plain City, Ohio. We do trap-neuter-return (TNR) of feral and stray cats. We also help low income people get their cats spayed/neutered. Out of these efforts, we always find cats/kittens that are friendly and so we do adopt out these animals. We have cage space at PetSmart, which does help us find a great many homes. Our area consists of a great number of farms and low income people who do not get their cats fixed. It is a huge problem that we are working to solve.

Meet Toby

This is a courtesy post to find a home for sweet Toby. He is about 1.5 years old, has been vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and is neutered. Toby is located outside of chillicothe, Ohio, but his current caregiver is willing to drive him to Columbus to get him a good home. She is unsure how he is with other cats, but he did great with her smaller dachshund. She is unsure about big dogs. Her kids torment him, so he doesn't like children under the age of 5, but she thinks he would be okay with kids who were kind and gentle. His left eye is not missing. The caregiver said she can even see it in sync with his right eye. But the vet said it isn't effecting his quality of life and wouldn't recommend removing it. If you would like to know more about Toby or request an adoption application, please email us at bandocats@gmail.com He is only being rehomed, because the kids are mean to him.

Adoption Process
Adoption application. We check references and call vet. There is a $75 adoption fee, but all of our cats are sterilized, vaccinated, and tested for feline leukemia/FIV prior to adoption. We do not adopt to anyone who wants to declaw, but we do not advertise that fact until after the person fills out the application--we do not want them to lie to us if they know they cannot get the cat and declaw. We have them sign an agreement that the cat will come back to us if for any reason they do not want it.
