Miss Understood is a confident, independent tortoiseshell with a sleek black-and-orange coat and a little white at the tip of her tail. Her deep green eyes are full of wisdom, and while she can’t talk, she definitely knows how to get her point across. Miss Understood is friendly and enjoys being around people, especially if they let her do things her way. The shelter can be a bit noisy for her taste, but she’s handled it well and is ready to settle into a calm, cozy home. Miss Understood loves attention, but only when she’s in the mood. If she wants pets, she’ll meow to let you know, and if you bring out a brush, even better! She’s a great couch companion that’s low-energy and happy to just hang out nearby. She’s independent, but she still enjoys spending time with people who respect her space. Miss Understood would do best in a quiet home without young kids, where she can have the freedom she likes. She’s not one to beg for treats, but she does love a comfy spot to curl up. Your chair or couch will probably become her new favorite place. If you’re looking for a relaxed, well-mannered cat with a little bit of sass, she’s ready to be your new best friend…on her terms, of course!
Adoption Process
We ask potential adopters to fill out an application, which we review. We prefer to have the name and contact information for a current or former veterinarian.
We typically deliver the adopted pet(s) to the adopter's home, at which time a contract is signed. We ask for a $100 adoption donation, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, FIV and feline leukemia testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, and all veterinary records.
If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we take the animal back at any time during his or her life. Until the adopter and Thundering Paws decide together that the adoption is final, we will refund the adoption donation.
