YesMeet Tawny, a former mother to five kittens who is now prepared to embrace her own adventures. She has striking green eyes and beautiful brown tabby fur. Tawny has recently discovered the joy of play and the beauty of human trust. She enjoys attention, gently nudging your hand for a pet or rubbing up against you to show her affection. Tawny is a lover of leisure, often found lounging around the house, yet she has a playful side that peeks out every so often. She has her preferred spots for napping, choosing between the softness of the bed and the sunny warmth of a window ledge. Tawny can be shy at first with new faces and in new places, but give her some time and she will reveal an outgoing personality and affectionate side. She is affectionate when approached by familiar faces, and she much prefers the companionship of human pals, preferring to be the only animal in the household. Tawny's ideal home would be one with a medium energy levels and older kids who can understand her need for space at times - somewhere where she can both relax and play, all while ruling her domain as the one and only queen of the animal castle.
Adoption Process
We ask potential adopters to fill out an application, which we review. We prefer to have the name and contact information for a current or former veterinarian.
We typically deliver the adopted pet(s) to the adopter's home, at which time a contract is signed. We ask for a $100 adoption donation, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, FIV and feline leukemia testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, and all veterinary records.
If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we take the animal back at any time during his or her life. Until the adopter and Thundering Paws decide together that the adoption is final, we will refund the adoption donation.
