Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary

We are a companion animal rescue group and sanctuary. Our animals come from many places. About 75% are adoptable - we find them homes. Others are feral (wild) cats who have had no positive contact with humans. They, too, have good lives at Thundering Paws. Our foster home network helps us care for many more animals than can stay at the sanctuary. Some animals arrive fearful and cannot be adopted until they learn what it's like to be touched by gentle hands. Others need time to recover from injuries or illness before they go to their new homes. While spay/neuter is the only permanent solution to the overpopulation of companion animals, Thundering Paws wants animals who are already born to have full, happy lives. That is why we are a no-kill facility. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations to Thundering Paws are tax deductible. We rely on our volunteers and generous donors to keep us going.

Meet Pebbles

Pebbles is a tiny calico with soft fur, colorful spots and bright yellow eyes. She may be a little shy at first, but underneath that cautious nature is a sweet and loving kitten who just needs a little time to warm up. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate and enjoys gentle pets and quiet companionship. She even has a special soft meow she uses to say hello to the people she knows and loves.   Pebbles has a calm, gentle personality and prefers a relaxed environment. While she is not the most energetic kitten, she does enjoy playing with pom-pom balls, plastic springs, and toy mice with feather tails. She is well-mannered, low-energy, and happiest when curled up in a cozy cat bed or snuggled on a human bed.   Pebbles has had positive interactions with other kittens and absolutely loves her kitty foster sister. She is wary of dogs and would do best in a home without them. She has also done well with adults and young adults but is easily startled by loud noises and fast movements, so she needs a gentle, patient home where she can feel safe.   Because she is shy with new people and situations, Pebbles would do best in a quiet home with older children who understand how to give her space when she needs it. Once she feels secure, she blossoms into a sweet, cuddly companion. If you are looking for a gentle and loving kitten who just needs a little patience to shine, Pebbles could be the perfect match.

Adoption Process
We ask potential adopters to fill out an application, which we review. We prefer to have the name and contact information for a current or former veterinarian. We typically deliver the adopted pet(s) to the adopter's home, at which time a contract is signed. We ask for a $100 adoption donation, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, FIV and feline leukemia testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, and all veterinary records. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we take the animal back at any time during his or her life. Until the adopter and Thundering Paws decide together that the adoption is final, we will refund the adoption donation.
