SukiThis sweet girl rescued herself from an abandoned parking lot several years ago by climbing into the car of a person who stopped to give her some attention. That person proceeded to take her in, and they enjoyed a year in each others company before life circumstances led Suki to needing a new, forever home. While in her foster familys care, there was a house fire. She was able to make it outside and was found the next day when she returned to the home, unharmed physically but frightened. While she is such a sweet girl, she sometimes needs a little bit of space to decompress. She has been through a lot in her short life and needs her humans to understand that she tries her absolute hardest at being a sweet kitty but sometimes when she is stressed or overstimulated, she can swipe or scratch as a defense mechanism. When Suki came to CAWS from her previous owner, she was pregnant and soon gave birth to four little fluffballs right into the lap of her foster. Watching her come into herself as a mother has been one of the most rewarding experiences. Seeing this precocious, troubled girl learn how to become selfless in her need to make sure her babies were safe, protected, and healthy is so heartwarming. Suki is such a playful girl and when her kittens got older, she taught each of her babies how to play and would consistently engage in playful, social behaviors with them. As all children do, each of Suki’s kittens have their own personalities, preferences, and fears. Suki has done an excellent job in meeting each of her kittens individual needs as they grew.Suki has spent her life going from one challenging situation to another. She is ready for a home where she can be the priority - where somebody is ready and willing to offer everything they can to her to make sure that she is given all the attention, time, and care that she needs… where she will never have to worry about being hungry, cold, scared, or lost again.Suki is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and litter box trained. She has been around both other cats, dogs, and children. She would do best in a low to mid-energy home with people and pets who are able to respect her boundaries and who are able to manage brief moments of spiciness. Suki loves to do check-ins with her people and snuggle but occasionally becomes touched out and needs to be left alone for a little bit until she decompresses. Her foster believes that a home with another animal to play with but that still respects boundaries would be the best, preferably another cat, though Suki has bonded with dogs before as well. Are you the forever human that Suki needs?
