Meet Jack Jack
One of the original KD Kitties and longest foster residents, Jack Jack is an incredibly smart little guy who lives up to his orange tabby reputation. He’s fairly outgoing and enjoys being around his humans, although he’s not too keen on being pet yet. We believe that will change over time as he continues to become more comfortable. However, he is extremely food motivated and can be hand fed and pet while he is distracted by his tasty treat. His favorite food is chicken! If he hears the frig door open, he’ll miraculously emerge, sometimes still half asleep, to see if there might be a treat in store for him. He’ll even ask for treats by adorably meowing at your feet! He enjoys the company of a small 30lbs beagle, who he’ll even sometimes play with. He may not be the most cuddly cat you’ve ever met, but we think his curious and intelligent personality will certainly win your heart over! As with most cats, Jack Jack will need time to adjust to his new home. Formerly feral cats generally require more time and patience than other cats, and it can take up to a year or more for them to fully adapt to their new home. Jack Jack would do best in a home with other friendly cats and enjoys the company of smaller, cat savvy dogs under 30lbs. Preference will go to those willing to adopt Jack Jack with his cousin, Vince, with a discounted, combined adoption fee of $250. Please reach out for more information! Adoption link can be found on our organization page.
Adoption Process
We have a Google form that all potential fosters and adopters are required to fill out. Based on this form, we will proceed with the screening process and have a telephone/virtual/or in person interview which generally includes all persons who will be living with the cats. If approved, they have the option to foster, foster-to-adopt or adopt. If they decide to adopt, we have a separate adoption agreement that they are required to fill out and sign, along with an adoption fee that is equal to the amount of veterinary services spent on the cat(s) to include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, etc. If fostering-to-adopt, we may consider waiving the adoption fee. Our goal is to ensure cats are placed in a home that is a good fit for the cat(s), the adopter(s), and all family members and residents to include other pets currently living in the home. Fosters and adopters are required to contact us and return animals to our rescue if at any time they feel they can no longer care for the animal.
