Forgotten Felines of Culpeper

I have been rescuing for another group for 8 years, that group is in the process of dissolving. I am forming this group because there is a desperate need for it in this area. I believe that every cat deserves to have shelter from the elements, food, and humane care. I am hoping to lower the shelter's euthanasia rates, and help the community by taking in sick, orphaned, and abandoned cats through a network of foster homes, once expansion is necessary.

Meet Denali

Meet Denali and McKinley! Denali (pronounce Da-nall-ee) and McKinley came to us 2 years ago with their siblings from Mountain Run Lake Road where they were found as stray kittens, hence their names.Denali and McKinley were adopted as kittens, but sadly, after 2 years, her family moved and dumped them in a shelter. This was very traumatizing for them and, once we got them back into care, neither ate for a week. Thankfully, both are doing well now and accepting pets and affection.Denali is a beautiful blue (light gray) tabby, very sweet and unassuming. She loves to be around people, stretch out and watch tv or lounge in the sunrays of a sunny window. McKinley is the shyer of the 2 cats. He is all black and tends to stay in the background, instead letting Denali do his bidding for him. They are bonded and must be adopted together. (Special for bonded pairs, adopt 1, get 1 free!)Both are fully vetted and ready to go home with an approved application. They are dewormed, spayed/neutered, received their FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and are microchipped with a lifetime registration (which is how the shelter was able to find us!). No more paying $20+ every year to re-register, it's done for life!Their perfect home would be a quiet, low activity home with a human or humans or a family with older kids over the age of 10 years old. Interested? Please email us at [email protected] for an application or call 540.717.4420.

Adoption Process
Once adoption application is approved and references checked, an adoption contract is signed. For all Shrinking Violets - not fully socialized cats - the adoption fee is $25. Requirements of adoption: may not declaw, if for any reason it doesn't work out the cat MUST come back to our organization. The cat's new, adoptive home must be an indoor only one in a quiet, low activity home, with older children. Must take to vet w/in 10 days.
