Ember

Forgotten Felines of Culpeper

I have been rescuing for another group for 8 years, that group is in the process of dissolving. I am forming this group because there is a desperate need for it in this area. I believe that every cat deserves to have shelter from the elements, food, and humane care. I am hoping to lower the shelter's euthanasia rates, and help the community by taking in sick, orphaned, and abandoned cats through a network of foster homes, once expansion is necessary.

Meet Ember

Meet Ember, a gorgeous female gray tabby, about a year old. Ember was found outside a firehouse last October by an EMT that worked there. He saw the cat in the afternoon as he entered the building and as he left saw the cat again in the wee hours of the morning. This kind man took the cat home and took care of it until he could contact us. He told us the cat appeared to be starving and had gone through three cans of wet food at his house before coming to us. Once in our care, I can honestly say that I had never in all my years of rescue or otherwise, eat so fast. Ember is a sweet girl who loves affection. She loves to be pet and be with people. She gets along great with other cats and would most-likely be a great companion cat.Ember loves her climber and looking out the window at the birds. She is playful, but has a calm personality, at times instead just wanting to sit and relax.Ember is/will be dewormed, spayed, have an FVRCP and Rabies vaccine, be combo tested, and be microchipped with a lifetime regisrtration. No need to pay every year to reregister, we've done it for you. Interested in Ember to light up your life? Please fill out the digital application: https://www.jotform.com/form/221029453063044   or contact us at [email protected] or call 540.717.4420.

Adoption Process
Once adoption application is approved and references checked, an adoption contract is signed. For all Shrinking Violets - not fully socialized cats - the adoption fee is $25. Requirements of adoption: may not declaw, if for any reason it doesn't work out the cat MUST come back to our organization. The cat's new, adoptive home must be an indoor only one in a quiet, low activity home, with older children. Must take to vet w/in 10 days.
