Meet Magic Shadi: Not At shelter (Matt)
This girl was adopted from us five years ago, and recently was returned to our care due to medical problems that her adopter did not deal with. Shadi had lost weight because she was unable to eat and drink comfortably, and we needed to find out why. Upon exam, it was found that she had a large polyp in her ear, that ended up being a real bear to deal with. We opted for immediate surgery, since Shadi was struggling to be comfortable, and in the process of removing that polyp, another one was discovered in her airway and was interfering with her ability to swallow easily. After both were removed, Magic Shadi has bounced back to her pre-polyp good-natured self, and is recovering nicely! We are watching carefully for her to be her normal self, and she is safe in foster care until adoption. PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at [email protected]. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.
Adoption Process
Begin with an application to adopt. Other pets in household must be spay/neutered, current with rabies vaccines, dogs need to be current with HW testing and heartguard. Fees range between $75 and $300. We follow up on spays/neuters for pets under six months, and the fees include spay/neuter. Contract requires it. Adults are adopted out already spayed/neutered. Pets must be returned to FOAC if adoption ends.
