Meet Marianne: Visit At Petsmart Lynchburg
MARIANNE has been at the shelter now for about three weeks. Now she is getting stressed out, and is desperately seeking away to find happiness. She has started pulling her own fur out, a condition known as “overgrooming,” often caused by stress. we were hoping Marianne would be a nice fit for a Petsmart adoption, but she’s not extremely fond of having other cats up close and personal, and when that happens, the stress level at Petsmart could be even higher for her. We are going to do our best to try to find her a home without without putting her through that additional experience. Marianne is at the shelter, and is available during our “no-fee for sterilized pets” adoption promotion this week. Marianne is just under a year old, is already spayed, and would appreciate a quiet home rather than one filled with rowdy children. Believe me, we have lots of cats that would love to be with rowdy children, but she is not one of them! To adopt, please stop in for a visit and an application! PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at [email protected]. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.
Adoption Process
Begin with an application to adopt. Other pets in household must be spay/neutered, current with rabies vaccines, dogs need to be current with HW testing and heartguard. Fees range between $75 and $300. We follow up on spays/neuters for pets under six months, and the fees include spay/neuter. Contract requires it. Adults are adopted out already spayed/neutered. Pets must be returned to FOAC if adoption ends.
