Meet Mama Spice

While my on-record name is Mama Spice, my foster mom calls me Granola because I am so much more than just a great mommy cat. I am extremely loving, gentle, and sweet, and I have a gorgeous gray and tan pattern. It took me 2.5 days to settle into my foster home, where I am currently staying in a guest room with my four kittens.   The quickest way to earn my trust is by feeding me. Once I settled in, I have wanted non-stop pets and scratches. I am a huge advocate for humans sitting on the floor because that provides a large surface for which I can rub against for even more pets. Perhaps my best trait is how ridiculously gentle I am. My foster mom has been giving me daily, routine medicine to ensure I am healthy, since I came from the shelter. I have never once reacted by trying to bite or scratch, and accept the medicine like a total angel. I'm a bit weary of being held but I do like to flop down beside my foster mom once she's seated. I have a very soft purr and a very squeaky meow, but I am rarely vocal.    Now that my babies are old enough, I am looking for a home where I can continue to blossom. My foster mom thinks I would do great with other cats (with a gradual introduction) because I love to hang out by the guest room door, and listen to the resident cats coming and going. While they have hissed occasionally, I have never reacted in any way. I am curious and hopeful that I will find a loving home that will give me the time I need to settle in, and provide comfort and stability for the rest of my life.

Adoption Process
Our adopters fill out an application that screens for problems that may be detrimental to our cats and kittens. Once the adopter is approved we provide veterinary referrals which help with low cost spays or neuters for the kittens that are too young at the time of adoption. We are always available to help with behavioral issues that arise. We provide numerous information sheets in our adoption folders, plus the medical background of each cat. The only fees involved with our program are adoption fees that offset our veterinary bills.
