Meet Nova
Meet Nova, a very Kind, Affectionate, Loyal, and Compassionate support animal that has brought her humans so much joy! I rescued Nova when she was about 2 months old. She had other stray sisters and brothers and I rescued 3 others with her. I kept Nova and her sister Aura. Her best friend Aura was by her side for 6 years. They were my support animals, they helped me get through my most difficult life moments. So listing her on here is very difficult for me to do and I want to make sure she goes to a stable, healthy, loving, and nurturing home that has the time for her everyday to provide her with love, enrichment, belly rubs and a nutritious diet. She needs at least 30 mins minimum of one on one enrichment with her human (play time). Her favorite toy is a wire with paper towel roll bits on the end of it. She also loves balled up pieces of paper to swat around on the floor. Sometimes she will push the balls around on her ball track. Nova is a horizontal scratcher so she would love a good and sturdy scratcher on the floor that does not move while being scratched. If she doesn’t have that then she will resort to scratching the sides of the mattress because mattresses don’t move when being scratched. Nova’s diet almost resembles what she would be eating if she were still in the wild. (I have not yet gotten her on a raw meaty-bones diet). She eats 2oz of her food twice a day at the same time, that’s what she likes and she knows when it’s time to eat because of this routine. I make 4 pounds of organic and pasture raised/grassfed raw meat mixture to last around a month or a little bit over. I mix it with TC Feline’s pre-mix and 4 raw egg yolks to give her the rest of the nutrients she needs. Her poops do not have any smells to them on a raw meat diet and she only poops once a day and pee’s twice a day because her body is actually absorbing the nutrients. Her body does not absorb regular cat kibble foods because it’s not natural for them to eat. I scoop her litter at least once a day on my busy schedule but she prefers it scooped after each time she goes. I only give her fluoride/toxin-free water with my ClearlyFiltered water pitcher, never yucky tap water. She has a very large and open stainless steel litter box to fit her size well and she loves when I make a big mound of litter in the middle of the box rather than fill up the entire box because she doesn’t like stepping in her own waste (who does?) Nova is amazing. She is loyal, intelligent, calm, cozy, gentle, kind, quiet, trustworthy, compassionate, and watchful. She can be vocal for attention and sometimes obedient when her name is called. These next few traits she has can be changed with daily day-time enrichment activities and loving connection - nocturnal, reserved, and jumpy. She is very affectionate when she is feeling comfortable with you and her environment. She loves to flop onto her back for daily belly rub time and neck/back scratches. She gets along well and socializes with other kind cats but won’t if they want to attack her. She does take time to get comfortable to new animals and environments. She has never bitten nor swatted anyone before. Her hisses are harmless and she only hisses if she doesn’t want me to pick her up from where she is but still has never bitten/swatted me or anyone else. She’s good with kids but she will keep her distance a lot of the time if they’re not calm (she is jumpy) but she will come and cuddle at night. She never climbs on counters. **** Breed: Short-haired **** Pet Link: https://www.nokillnetwork.org/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2174817&flag=1
