Purr-Fect Match Animal Rescue, Inc.

PFM has been formed by three people with over 30 years of rescue experience between them. We feel that there is a "hole" in current rescue/shelter efforts and we hope to be able to help fill that hole. One aim is to help people understand their animals by education of animal behaviors. Hopefully, that will reduce the number of animals being brought in to "shelters" in our area. We also intend to provide an online service where animals (who have been vetted by us) can be seen by potential adopters, whom we will vet the same way we do our own. Additionally, there are animals we come into contact with who need immediate rescuing. We are a foster-based organization (limited), and will intake the animal(s) as soon as a foster home has room. We follow strict protocol for vaccinations (distemper and rabies), testing (FeLV/FIV, heartworm, etc.), preventative (heartworm), spay/neuter, and microchips. All of the animals available for adoption through our foster homes is up to date on all vaccinations and tests. We spay/neuter our animals between 4 and 6 months if young, and as soon as we intake them if older. All of the members of PFM have previous fostering experience. We do this because, as our mission states, "Purr-Fect Match Animal Rescue is dedicated to the sanctity of all living things and their inherent right to a happy, healthy, and humane life." We hope to accomplish this one animal and one forever home at a time.

Meet Tabasco

Tabasco and her brothers, Basil and Parsley, were born in a room in a home where the people were not sure what to do when the cat they had rescued actually had kittens! So, they spent the first five months of their lives sequestered in one room. Then they were brought into foster care in Purr-Fect Match. Until her brothers and mother were adopted, Tabasco spent her time in a heated room in a cat-friendly barn. They received good food, attention, and toys, but actual house time waited.  After Basil and Parsley were adopted, Tabasco came into the house to begin acclimating. This petite girl is a SPICY one and isn’t afraid to tell anyone who will listen...even those who won't!  She is into everything, begins a relationship as a friendly girl, and then may turn into a whirling dervish at a moment's notice.  This tendency has lessened since coming into indoor living with a family. So, we are hopeful that in the right circumstances (with parents who understand, love, and humor her) she will blossom. During these past few weeks, some likes and dislikes have been identified. For example, Tabasco does not love dogs...even dogs who are cat-savvy. She will now tolerate most other cats, but has not formed any friendships. As for people, you need to be blessed by her and put on her list! For those she favors (men more than women, but women are not excluded), she will be a lap cat. Go figure!! She sure is a beauty, though!! Tabasco should not go to a home with young children. Nor, into a home where a cat scratch could cause damage. But someone with a sense of humor, patience, and lots of love could win this precious girl's heart. If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting any of our adoptable pets, we ask that you first fill out a non-binding adoption application on our website: purrfectmatch.rescuegroups.org/forms. If you have questions, please email us at [email protected] or leave a message at 920-234-5995. Our webpage also has information on the adoption process and next steps. Thank you for choosing to adopt!

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must fill out an application form including information regarding declawing (we do NOT support declawing). We then call references and prior vet(s), as well as run a background check for legal issues. The Board of Directors approves an applicant. At that time, the animal is taken to the home and a home visit performed. If it is satisfactory, the animal(s) is(are) left at the new home. A two-week trial period ensues in order to make certain a "perfect match" has been made. Either the adopter or PFM can remove the animal from the home during that two-week period. After that, the adoption is final.
