Little Orphan's Animal Rescue, Inc.

Little Orphan's is the only rescue offering low cost spay/neuter assistance and TNR of feral cats in Marquette County, WI. The driving force behind our services is the unacceptable numbers of cats and dogs euthanized in United States shelters each year. We are staffed by unpaid volunteers who work non-stop to aid all the animals in need that we are able to.

Meet Maggie

Talk about a 180...Maggie was surrendered because her owner could no longer care for her. Maggie was understandably terrified, confused, and probably just sad to be separated from the only home and person she had ever known. In the beginning Maggie was "Spicy" towards us, we even wrote a warning note on her kennel to take it slow with her, and be prepared as she was unhappy. Our volunteers know and understand this initial response from new kitties, some adjustments take time and some happen quickly. We all continued to interact with her (slowly) and eventually moved her into a contained larger area where she instantly began to show her true self. She started to accept pets, no hissing, no "spicy" at all, just pure love. Maggie's true self is a beautiful, loving, kind, playful girl who has blossomed into one of the biggest love bugs in the building. She will greet you with her cute face and soft meow, and then she will lay on her back to show you her belly for pets. You can pet her, kiss her, pick her up, and she is perfectly happy to be carried around just so she can be close to you. Maggie seems to have adjusted well to the other cats so she would be fine in a multi cat home, but would also to be happy to the "queen bee" as a single kitty too! She is very smart and has figured out how to push open the swing door to the back work room so she can be with our volunteers while they work in hopes of sneaking in some extra time and attention. We think Maggie is a great cat who deserves a FOREVER home and family to love.  Complete our online adoption application a www.littleorphans.org to start the process of adding this adorable cat to your home.
