Little Orphan's Animal Rescue, Inc.

Little Orphan's is the only rescue offering low cost spay/neuter assistance and TNR of feral cats in Marquette County, WI. The driving force behind our services is the unacceptable numbers of cats and dogs euthanized in United States shelters each year. We are staffed by unpaid volunteers who work non-stop to aid all the animals in need that we are able to.

About

Meet Nyx

Nyx was brought to us from another shelter that didn't have any small kittens of her age for playmates. We put her in the baby room with the others her age. Nyx has a very strong personality. Very independent which at times makes her seem a little bossy. She very likes human attention, feline attention not really unless it is on her own terms. Nyx would be fine as an only cat. She can entertain herself until she is ready and will crawl into your lap for attention and love. She is such a cute little black furry puff ball, she is strong and solid and more than ready to start a life with her "best friend(s)"   ***This kitty is an FIP Survivor. Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) was once 100% fatal, but a group of dedicated volunteers and veterinary medicine professionals began using an experimental drug a few years ago and have had terrific success. In 2023 about 80% of cats diagnosed and treated are being saved. In Summer of 2024 the drug became legal for USA vets to prescribe and treat. Treatment is a regimen of either shots or pills, followed by an observation period. The cat will then be considered cured after a period of 12 months without relapse.   The only "special" care needed for FIP survivors is annual medical checkups with bloodwork.  They don’t require any special medications, or food, just lots of love and attention. These kitties have been through so much just to become healthy again and really deserve a second chance to have a beautiful life.    Complete our online adoption application a www.littleorphans.org to start the process of adding an adorable cat to your home. Adoption fees for our friends include spay/neuter, up-to-date age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, flea preventative, and a microchip.

Adoption Process
