Meet Henry
Meet Henry – The Resilient Street Survivor Turned Lap Cat! Henry has lived through it all and come out the other side with nothing but love to give! This incredible survivor spent years as a colony cat, braving the freezing Chicago winters and always keeping his friendly spirit alive. He was the kind of cat who would trot out to greet his caretakers, even on the coldest days, proving just how much he craved human companionship. When he was finally rescued, it was clear he had endured a tough life. Ultimately, nineteen painful teeth had to be removed, and an old injury left him blind in his right eye and missing part of his ear. But Henry isn’t one to dwell on the past—he’s just grateful to be safe, warm, and showered with love. Since Henry has so few teeth left, he’ll need to stay on a wet food diet, since he has trouble chewing on kibble. But you won’t hear him complaining! He loves wet food, and he just thinks he’s being spoiled like the king he is! He is also currently awaiting surgery to remove his inured eye. Since he is blind in it anyway removing it will help ensure that he stays healthy and avoids infection. Until he gets his surgery, the area around his eye must be kept clean so it doesn’t become infected.Henry is the perfect combination of affectionate and independent. He absolutely loves people, going from person to person for pets, and has a way of making everyone feel special. He’s social, gentle, great with strangers, and never shows aggression… even at the vet! Henry thrives on attention but is also happy to entertain himself, making him an ideal companion for someone who works from home. He is very polite and won’t interrupt the work flow! While Henry is a confident and friendly lovebug, he can startle at sudden movements or loud noises. He may dart under the couch when things get overwhelming, but call his name, and he’ll come right back out, ready for more affection!Because he grew up in a cat colony, Henry is used to having feline friends around and he would love to have another kitty friend in his forever home. He’s playful, social, and enjoys making new friends, especially when they’re ready to play with him! He’d also do great with gentle children, as he’s never aggressive and is always eager to soak up love from anyone willing to give it. Henry is a lap cat through and through—if you sit down, don’t be surprised if he curls up in your lap, purring nonstop! He’ll even fall asleep on your chest at night, resting his chin on you like the ultimate cuddle bug he is.Henry’s playful side is just as charming as his affectionate one! He loves running around, ducking under sofas during his zoomies, and playing with ribbon wands, electronic hide-and-seek mat toys, and even his own tail. One of his foster mom’s favorite memories of Henry was when she heard a racket behind her bedroom door and found him vigorously chasing his own tail in circles. He is so goofy, charming, and hilarious! He will bring so much joy to his future home.Henry is a big baby in an adult body. He so deserves a loving home and he will repay the love he receives tenfold! His favorite activities are cuddling on top of you, chasing ribbon wands, getting pets from multiple people at the same time, and basking in the sun. His foster mom will definitely miss Henry's funny, friendly, and quirky personality. His energy and enthusiasm for life are contagious, and if he had a superpower, it would be changing the weather—because he can brighten up anyone’s day with his sunny personality! If you’re looking for a loving, resilient, and playful companion who will adore you endlessly, Henry is the perfect cat for you! Adoption Process
Thank you for your interest in Forever Fortunate Felines, a division of Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue. We are very happy to have the opportunity to match you with your purr-fect cat-panion!
Once you complete the online application using the below link, you will be able to discuss and ask questions directly to the foster parent.  We believe this is a big advantage to you as our organization is completely foster based, we really understand our cats personalities at a deep level. This helps to ensure a great match with you and your family.
In order to get the process going, would you kindly fill out our detailed online application located here:Â
https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/11683/generic
Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue. Â Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten.
Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day. Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet. We recommend a pet carrier which opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier. If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day. If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $3 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home. We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies.
Our adoption fees are listed at the link below. This fee includes full vetting, flea treatment, de-worming, spay surgery, FeLV and FIV test, microchip insertion, and vaccinations up to date for the kittens or cats age. We are able to accept cash, check, paypal, or most major credit cards for the adoption fee.

We have streamlined our adoption process to make it easy!  Everything from the application, to payment, to the contract is online.  Additionally, all of the cats records will be placed in your free Petlovers account at petstablished.com to keep organized.
